Today I developed the contents page of my magazine. I made a deliberate choice to keep the house colours of black and red with white text. I wanted the contents to reflect the images and title of the front cover, as a consequence of this I chose the Christmas theme. I started with text that I used the front page to keep the continuity. I decided to only use 2 images on he contents page because I did not want to deflect the audience from the next. By using sibilance (as in “See” “Santa” and “Sack”) and alliteration (“Christmas Comps”) I feel that I have used the conventional advertising features of published magazines which I have adapted from my appreciation of researching magazines, in addition the alteration helps with the fluidly of the style of writing.
With the size of the font I chose it was not possible to have linear text as lines merged, so I decided to slant certain words to remedy this problem. I feel that this enhanced the design feature and a less formal approach since this magazine is aimed at the student audience.
By framing my images and with careful consideration to the lighting I have created a 3D effect, whilst not an exact 3D image it has the allusion of depth.
I was extremely pleased with the final draft of this contents page and felt rewarded by the finished product and felt it was commensuate to the amount of time and effort that I had put into the production.

Patrick, you should upload your original images and various draft stages of your magazine pages too. This will allow the reader to ‘see’ your progress as well as read about it.
